미래 Means Future
It was September 2nd, 2012. I had just heard the news that True Father had
passed away. At that moment, I recalled a dream that I had nearly one month
before he became ill with pneumonia.
In this dream, I was informed that
the beloved
Sun Myung Moon had been poisoned at the dinner table. As the protagonist of my dream,
I was asked to investigate the case and find the assassin with my detective
expertise. As soon as I heard of the assassination, I hurried to the scene of
the crime to investigate Father’s corpse. His body was still in his seat, resting
deeply at peace. With much anger and confusion, I moved closely toward Father's
face, looked straight into his closed, beady little eyes, and I yelled,
"Father…Father! Wake up! Come back! Come back to us!" I screamed and
cried, as tears flew out onto his resting body. Then, suddenly… his tiny black eyes
opened, and in an instant he briefly came back to life. I was so shocked and
desperate to find the murderer, that the first thing I said was "Father!
Who did this to you? Who was it!?" With no hesitation, he responded in Korean "Mi-Re"… That was his only word before he passed
away again. I proceeded to screamed in Korean, "Who is Mi-re!? I will find
him! I promise!" After Father’s last words to me, I awoke from my dream.
The moment I awoke, I realized what
"Mi-Re" meant. I recalled that “Mi-Re” is not someone’s name, but rather,
it’s an actual Korean word with a profound meaning…
In Korean,
“Mi-Re” means "Future.” The profound meaning of this dream overwhelmed me.
I was brought to tears, as the feeling of guilt
and stupidity overcame me; that I spent Father’s last words demanding answers. I
sat up in my bed, and in the midst of total confusion, guilt and sheer inspiration,
I realized one simple truth that changed my life
forever: what he spent his lifetime doing for the future of mankind means more
than just his physical life. The purpose of True Father’s existence was not
simply for a physical mission, but rather for an eternal mission. He does not
want us to focus on just the present, but instead look to the future. How could
one word from True Father have such a dramatic effect? With this dream in mind,
I believe each word of the Messiah has more truth to it than any other text. He
spent his very last breath teaching us this truth.
That is what this book is about: taking to heart the Words of the
Messiah.
“Do you wish to listen to my speeches through an interpreter or directly from me? Of course, you want to listen to them in Korean. Why? Because Korean is the original language. Therefore, in studying the Principle, if you do not know the original language, you will not understand the meaning of the words. Furthermore, when you go to the spirit world in the future, will you be proud if you can say, “I understood Father’s speeches directly, without translation” or if you have to say, “I listened to his words through an interpreter?” Which? Moreover, they are words that express the ideal world of love.”
